UPTATE 09/20/2008:
Here are a few things we are hoping to do for Sarah:
1. Take her to a homeopathic doctor. We want bloodwork done and anaylized to make sure she is healthy from all the drugs she has incured and maybe even find some alternative types ofmedications for her GI tract.
She has shown vast improvement on supplements that have been added to her feedings.
These are pretty pricy, but the benifits are amazing.
We have seen this work first hand.
Barlean Greens
Fish Oil
Hemp Oil
Melatonin
Probiotics
Vitamin B and C
Microlipids
Gas medicine
Above are on going month to month supplements that have been proven to show such improvement on Sarah's over all health.
2. We still would like to have additional feeding therapies at home and/or at LIFE to help us help her begin to eat.
3.We would also like to have an additonal speech therapies at home and/or at LIFE that the state does not cover to
get her to start talking.
4. For the summer we would really like to have her attend Aquatic Theapy. This too is extremely benificial for her entire body because it is nearly gravity free, it gets the blood to move faster, gives better range of motion and strethens her entire body.
5. We need to find and hopefully take her to a specific dietitian. In order to progress to the next level of feeding, she needs to start taking blended foods, which a special diet perscribed by a dietitian. Even if it is via g tube this is a huge benifit for her. A dietitian will help us get there and get her started on the right track and get her off formula once and for all. Formula could eventually stunt her growth.
This is an out of pocket expense as well and
not covered by insurance.

6. We are currently looking into taking Sarah to feeding clinic. Right now we are looking at place in Colorado and California. This would be as an inpaitent and it would be one on one therapy. This is a very expensive cost due to not being covered by insurance either. However, in the long run, this will pay off because once she starts eating by mouth, she will no longer need the expensive formulas and feeding supplies and alot of her GI issues should start to clear up. She will start to gain weight and her overall health will improve.
7. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy: (HBO) treatment is a form of therapy that some say resembles science fiction. It involves a child sitting in a pressurized air chamber while pure oxygen is administered at a controlled pressure. HBO treatments usually last from 60 to 90 minutes per session.
Their maybe more than one session in a day.
The total number of sessions will vary, but it’s common
for treatment to start at 40 sessions over the course
of several weeks.
In studies, increased oxygen intake and tissue saturation has shown promising results for children with brain injuries:
This is a very expensive therapy, but its all worth giving a shot.
Please see this website and it gives all the
benificial information.

that we do need for Sarah.
